Daniel Pathmaperuma, born in 1978, began studying computer science at the Technische Universität Braunschweig (University of Brunswick) in 1999. After his intermediate exam he changed to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT (former University of Karlsruhe) in 2001 where he did his diploma. Besides his studies he worked as freelance IT-service provider. From 2008 Daniel Pathmaperuma worked as a developing engineer for the Orbster GmbH in Karlsruhe until in July 2009 he joined the KIT again at the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) in the group of Prof. Hartmut Schmeck. Besides coordinating the Smart-Grid and Smart-Traffic projects MeRegio, MeRegioMobil and iZEUS, he workes on different simulations, especially in the context of mobile robotics.
