<b>Advance! is a student development program</b> that has been initiated and is conducted by [[Michael Färber|Dr. Michael Färber]] and his research group [[Web Science]] at the KIT-Institute AIFB. We address ourselves to excellent students that want to develop themselves beyond the limits of their study courses.

Advance! is a Students Development Program that has been initiated and is conducted by a group led by Professor Studer at the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB). Advance! cooperates with the Information Process Engineering Department (IPE) at Forschungszentrum Informatik, with the Karlsruhe Service Research Institute, and with Ontoprise GmbH. Our program is supported by the SAP Research Center Karlsruhe and by IBM Deutschland GmbH. We address ourselves to excellent students who have attracted our attention during courses or through outstanding commitment.

<b>To complete</b> the Advance! program, you need to fulfill <b>at least two</b> out of the following criteria:
* Web applications, web search, web 2.0

*Completion of your bachelor or master thesis in the Web Science group
* Knowledge representation, description logics, and ontologies

*Completion of a seminar from the Web Science group
* Web services
+
*Contribution to the community (publishing research)

*Active participation in the Web Science group
  
The Advance! Program offers exclusive contacts, jobs, student research projects, and social events. Each semester, selected students are invited to take part.

To complete the Advance! program, you need to fulfill at least two out of the following criteria:
