At the 6th National IT-Summit in Munich on December 6th the participants of the Software Campus were introduced in the presence of Chancellor Angela Merkel. Launched in late 2010, the Software Campus initiative is intended to remedy the lack of IT managers with technical background. The Software Campus is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), leading German software companies and universities including KIT. All participants will receive funding to lead small research projects for max. 2-year to deepen existing research concepts and to jointly evaluate them with their industry partners in practice. "I am looking forward to the challenge of exploring my concepts for performance monitoring of business processes in modern software platforms with SAP. The first event was very impressive. I am very excited to see how we will further develop the pilot phase, " said Robin Fischer.

AIFB-Wissenschaftler beim Software-Campus

Im Rahmen des 6. Nationalen IT-Gipfels in München am 6. Dezember wurden die Teilnehmer der Pilotphase des Software Campus in Anwesenheit von Kanzlerin Angela Merkel vorgestellt. Unter den elf ausgezeichneten Studierenden der Pilotphase des Software Campus ist Robin Fischer, Doktorand am AIFB in der Forschungsgruppe von Prof. Stefan Tai.

Die Ende 2010 gestartete Initiative Software Campus soll dazu beitragen, den Mangel an IT-Führungskräften mit technischer Ausbildung zu beheben. Gefördert wird der Software Campus vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) sowie deutschen Software-Unternehmen und Universitäten – darunter auch das KIT. Die Teilnehmer des Software Campus bekommen die Chance, in max. 2-jährigen Projekten ihre Forschungskonzepte zu vertiefen und diese gemeinsam mit ihren Partnerunternehmen in der Praxis zu erproben. „Ich freue mich auf die Herausforderung, meine Konzepte zur Leistungsüberwachung von Geschäftsprozessen in modernen Softwareplattformen mit der SAP zu erproben. Die erste Veranstaltung war sehr eindrucksvoll. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie wir die Pilotphase weiterentwickeln werden“, so Robin Fischer.
