|Beschreibung DE=The talk brings together the research fields of Information Retrieval and Linked Open Data. It will be shown on specific examples how Information Retrieval tasks might benefit from Linked Open Data. Therefore, approaches and evaluation methods for Linked Data based document annotation are discussed and two models to semantic search by incorporating Linked Data annotations into a generalized vector space model are presented. One model exploits taxonomic relationships among entities in documents and queries, while the other model computes term weights based on semantic relationships within a document. Finally, visualization techniques are introduced with the aim to support explorability and navigation.

Linked Data supported Information Retrieval

Veranstaltungsart:
Graduiertenkolloquium

The talk brings together the research fields of Information Retrieval and Linked Open Data.
