|Inhalt=Internet und World Wide Web verändern unsere Welt, diese Kernvorlesung liefert Hintergründe und Methoden für die Gestaltung zentraler Anwendungen des Internet, insbesondere zur Unterstützung elektronischen Handels. Nach einer Einführung in die Internet-Technologie werden u.a. folgende Themen behandelt: Informationssuche im WWW, Aufbau und Funktionsweise von Suchmaschinen, Grundlagen sicherer Kommunikation, elektronische Zahlungssysteme und digitales Geld, sowie eventuell: Sicherheitsarchitekturen (Firewalls), Datenkompression, Möglichkeiten des verteilten Rechnens im Internet. Eine Teilnahme an den Übungen wird nachdrücklich empfohlen. Diese Vorlesung wird auf englisch gehalten. Für Studenten der Informationswirtschaft zählt diese Vorlesung zum Wahlblock 5: "Informationsdienstleistungen in Netzen".

Active participation in the tutorials is strongly recommended. For students of information engineering and management this course belongs to area 5: "information services".

After an introduction into Internet technology the following topics are addressed: information retrieval in the net, structure and functioning of search engines, secure communication, electronic payment systems and digital money, and - if time permits - security architectures(firewalls), data compression, distributed computing on the Internet. Active participation in the tutorials is strongly recommended. For students of information engineering and management this course belongs to area 5: "information services".

Internet and World Wide Web are changing our world, this core course provides the necessary background and methods for the design of central applications of the Internet. After an introduction into Internet technology the following topics are addressed: information retrieval in the net, structure and functioning of search engines, secure communication, and its application in the domain of electronic payment systems as well as the Internet of energy and the smart grid. Active participation in the tutorials is strongly recommended. For students of information engineering and management this course belongs to area 5: "information services".
