|Beschreibung EN=The research group analyzes structural reasons for high complexity and develops efficient algorithmic methods for the solution of complex problems. Based on graph theoretic, analytic and logic approaches, contributions for a better understanding of complex systems and complex problems shall be produced. In a next step, new IT tools are to be created for a better support of complex systems and problems. The application projects are: Intelligent Systems in Finance, modelling and optimization of business processes, creation of tools for teaching programming languages as well as the analysis of large electronic markets.

Beschreibung

Der zentrale Arbeitsschwerpunkt der Forschungsgruppe Komplexitätsmanagement ist die Untersuchung struktureller Ursachen für das Auftreten von hoher Komplexität und die daraus abgeleitete Entwicklung effizienter algorithmischer Methoden zur Lösung komplexer Probleme. Auf der Basis graphentheoretischer, analytischer und logischer Ansätze sollen Beiträge zum besseren Verständnis komplexer Systeme und komplexer Probleme geleistet werden, um darauf aufbauend eine bessere Unterstützung der Beherrschung solcher Systeme und Probleme durch Werkzeuge der Informatik zu erreichen. Die Anwendungsprojekte erstrecken sich über folgende Themenbereiche: Intelligente Systeme im Finance, Modellierung und Optimierung von Geschäftsprozessen, Entwicklung von Werkzeugen und Methoden für die Programmierausbildung sowie Untersuchungen von großen elektronischen Märkten.
