|Info=<br>Ali Sunyaev ist Professor für Informatik und Direktor am Institut für Angewandte Informatik und Formale Beschreibungsverfahren (AIFB) des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT). Ali Sunyaev studierte Informatik an der Technischen Universität München (TUM), wo er im Fachgebiet Wirtschaftsinformatik im Jahre 2010 promovierte. Anschließend war er als Juniorprofessor für Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Universität zu Köln tätig.  Vor seinem Ruf an das KIT war er Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Wirtschaftsinformatik und Systementwicklung und Direktor am Forschungszentrum für Informationstechnikgestaltung (ITeG) der Universität Kassel. In den Jahren 2011 und 2012 arbeitete Ali Sunyaev als Visiting Faculty am Keldysh Institut für Angewandte Mathematik der Russischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Moskau und an der Amerikanischen Harvard Universität in Cambridge.<br><br>Seine Forschungsinteressen sind zuverlässige Software- und Informationssysteme in den Bereichen kritische Infrastrukturen, Cloud und Edge Computing, Blockchain / DLT Lösungen, nutzerzentrierte Anwendungen in der Gesundheitswirtschaft / Medizin (Digital Health), vertrauenswürdige KI, wirtschaftliche Anwendung von KI Algorithmen und Auditierung/Zertifizierung von IT. In seiner wissenschaftlichen Arbeit untersucht Ali Sunyaev die vielschichtigen Nutzungskontexte von digitalen Systemen, deren Entwicklung und Pilotierung in realen Anwendungsszenarien und die wechselseitigen Wirkungszusammenhänge zwischen menschlichem Verhalten und Informationstechnologie. In seiner Forschung arbeitet er sowohl mit informatischen / gestaltungsorientierten als auch empirischen Methoden. Universitätspreis der Universität zu Köln, Nominierung für den Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Preis, Best Paper Award Nominierungen (ICIS, ECIS Konferenzen), NRW-Innovationspreis und der McKinsey Business Technology Award) und fanden Erwähnung in einer Vielzahl von Druck- und Onlinemedien (z. B. Newsweek und Zeit). Die Forschungsprojekte von Ali Sunyaev werden von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), dem Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), dem Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi), dem Bundesministerium der Justiz und für Verbraucherschutz (BMJV) als auch von Partnern aus der Wirtschaft / Industrie (u.a. Seine Forschungsinteressen sind zuverlässige und dezentrale Informationssysteme in den Bereichen kritische Infrastrukturen, Cloud und Edge Computing, Blockchain / DLT Lösungen, nutzerzentrierte Anwendungen in der Gesundheitswirtschaft / Medizin (Digital Health), vertrauenswürdige KI, wirtschaftliche Anwendung von KI Algorithmen und Auditierung/Zertifizierung von IT. In seiner wissenschaftlichen Arbeit untersucht Ali Sunyaev die vielschichtigen Nutzungskontexte von digitalen Systemen, deren Entwicklung und Pilotierung in realen Anwendungsszenarien und die wechselseitigen Wirkungszusammenhänge zwischen menschlichem Verhalten und Informationstechnologie. In seiner Forschung arbeitet er sowohl mit informatischen / gestaltungsorientierten als auch empirischen Methoden. Seine Forschungsfragestellungen haben eine starke interdisziplinäre, konzeptionelle und sozio-technische Perspektive.

Seine Forschungsarbeiten erschienen in wissenschaftlichen Zeitschriften wie dem Information Systems Research (ISR), ACM Computing Surveys (ACM CSUR), Journal of Information Technology (JIT), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), Journal of Strategic Information Systems (JSIS), Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association (JAMIA), Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR), ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems (TMIS), Communications of the ACM (CACM), IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (IEEE TSE), IEEE Software, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (IEEE TCC), ACM Journal of Data and Information Quality (ACM JDIQ), ACM SIGMIS Database, IEEE Computer, Electronic Markets (EM), Communications of the AIS (CAIS) sowie Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE), und wurden auf führenden Konferenzen präsentiert - Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik und Medizinische Informatik (z.B. ICIS, USENIX, Pervasive Health, CAiSE, ECIS, HICSS, GMDS, INFORMATIK).

Ali Sunyaev wurde für seine Forschung mehrfach ausgezeichnet (z. B. Universitätspreis der Universität zu Köln, Nominierung für den Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Preis, Best Paper Awards (HICSS, ICIS, ECIS Konferenzen), NRW-Innovationspreis und der McKinsey Business Technology Award) und fanden Erwähnung in einer Vielzahl von Druck- und Onlinemedien (z. B. Newsweek und Zeit). Auch seine Lehre am KIT wurde mit dem Fakultätslehrpreis für Wirtschaftswissenschaften ausgezeichnet. Die Forschungsprojekte von Ali Sunyaev werden von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), dem Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), dem Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi), dem Bundesministerium der Justiz und für Verbraucherschutz (BMJV) als auch von Partnern aus der Wirtschaft / Industrie (u.a. SAP AG, EnBW AG, SQS AG, ConVista Consulting AG) finanziert. Zudem hat er verschiedene redaktionelle Verantwortlichkeiten (Editorentätigkeiten bei JAIS, JMIS, JIT und CAIS), arbeitet in Forschungsbelangen und der Executive Education eng mit mehreren Organisationen zusammen (z. B. Business School der Universität zu Köln, HECTOR School of Engineering and Management am KIT, Executive School HSG der Universität St. Gallen, WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management) und fungiert als Mentor für zahlreiche Start-Ups.

Am KIT leitet Ali Sunyaev die Forschungsgruppe Critical Information Infrastructures (cii).
