The project partners of the SofDCar consortium are researching with regard to the central challenges of software-driven vehicles. The focus is on the development of software to optimize and enhance vehicle functionality. The vehicle of the fututre is considered to be part of a connected vehicle and system environment, the integration of which is to be realized using a "data loop" and on the basis of a new type of "digital twin". This is intended to enable digital sustainability (of existing and future vehicle generations) as well as effective data utilization and innovative use cases over the entire life cycle of the vehicle (re-deployment).
