More and more digital healthcare platforms come into existence with the goal of bring-ing digital transformation to clinical care, particularly to enable greater exchange of information across healthcare providers as well as patients. On the patients’ and healthcare providers’ side, there are concerns about digital healthcare platforms’ IT security and privacy. In practice, IS certifications are good means to address patients’ and healthcare providers’ IT security and privacy concerns when using a digital health-care platform by, for example, increasing transparency regarding the platforms as well as their processes and services.

Background:

More and more digital healthcare platforms come into existence with the goal of bring-ing digital transformation to clinical care, particularly to enable greater exchange of information across healthcare providers as well as patients. On the patients’ and healthcare providers’ side, there are concerns about digital healthcare platforms’ IT security and privacy. In practice, IS certifications are good means to address patients’ and healthcare providers’ IT security and privacy concerns when using a digital health-care platform by, for example, increasing transparency regarding the platforms as well as their processes and services.

Objective(s):

The objective of this thesis is to develop an understanding of 1. how digital healthcare platforms look like and 2. which certifications are used in this area and how these certifications specifically look like. To reach this goal, students are required to conduct a literature review or an empirical study.
