EnSoC OleCC - Optimization of Electric Vehicles’ Load Shifting Potentials in Cloud Environments

Contact: Hartmut Schmeck

http://www.ensoc.de/forschung/ausgewahlte-projekte/olecc/

Project Status: completed

Description

Control approaches for shifting battery-electric vehicles’ energy demands, developed in cooperation with members of the industry, are simulated using a large amount of vehicles with different characteristics. The simulation model includes knowledge of the stakeholders customer, grid operator, energy supplier and OEM, which could lead to limitations during charge sessions when indicated. While implicit incentives are integrated though graduated tariffs, the main focus of the project is on the designed explicit control approaches. Furthermore seasonal factors and different mobility profiles are simulated. Resulting complex calculations are realized within cloud computing infrastructure. The simulation process and its results are visualized via modern user interfaces. The AIFB contributes the load shifting approaches which were developed together with EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG and has been significantly involved in the development of the functional model.
