Background:
Following the general hype about cloud computing, adoption of cloud services in several industries is on the rise. Especially in the healthcare sector, cloud services are being deployed ever so frequently in order to account for the increased need to support medical processes with modern information technology. However, due to its sensitive nature health‐related information deserves special attention and protection. Extant literature has covered the protection of health-related information in cloud computing environments by proposing and discussing a variety of information security and information privacy requirements that must be fulfilled by healthcare cloud services. Yet, information in fragmented and an overview is still missing.
Objective(s):
The objective of this thesis is to review extant literature on information security and information privacy requirements for healthcare cloud services to provide a comprehensive overview of such requirements.
