Kurzfassung
In an attempt to create a lean vocabulary for incremental
recording and step-wise formalisation of personal knowledge, we identified a set
of common knowledge structures. These Conceptual Data Structures (CDS) were found to be inherent to a variety of different knowledge
artefacts ranging from vague paper notes to highly structured documents. CDS is
suitable for representing knowledge in various degrees of formalisation a uniform fashion,
allowing gradual migration.
CDS serves two purposes: First, as a guideline for future Personal
Knowledge Management (PKM) tools, providing a set of crucial structural
primitives.
Second, the RDF-based representation of CDS can serve as a knowledge exchange
format. It is capable of representing also vague or even inconsistent knowledge structures between people and PKM tools without unnecessary loss of
information.
